Lilo and Stitch takes place in Hawaii in the animated movie
Hanapepe on the island of Kaua'i inspired the setting of the movie. While
in the live action movie it was shot on the island of Oahu on
Waikiki Beach, Haleiwa, and Makaha Beach.
